native and Arctic explorer, Robert E. Peary,
who discovered the North Pole on April 6,
1909. Cresson is Peary’s birthplace!

Cresson Lake Playhouse is a rustic pre-Civil
War barn tucked away in a picturesque
corner of the Southern Alleghenies. Not
one of the seats is more than 25 feet from
the stage. The barn theatre runs their
season from May-October.
